What the heck is this you ask? In addition to the podcast, I’ve decided to use this space for blogging as well. I don’t have a regular blog schedule like I do the podcast, but I thought it would be fun to do the occasional blog post here and there as a way to supplement things I talk about on the podcast.
I discovered through Shintar’s blog, Going Commando, that November is International Picture Post Month (INTPIPOMO). You can find out how to participate here. The “challenge” is to post 50 different screenshots during the month of November. Given that it’s the five-year anniversary of Star Wars: The Old Republic, I thought this would be a great way to share so moments, memories, and cool things I’ve seen in the last five years.
I can’t think of a better way to get off to a great start than to get off to a great stop. The picture below is from my first ever death in the game. And yes, it’s on my first ever character in the game.
The reason I took the screenshot was that I had a challenge for myself to see how far I could get without dying while leveling. As a veteran MMO-gamer I expected to go a lot further without dying, but alas something got me at level four.
If I recall, I believe this quest was to stop a slimy Czerka executive who was hunting Evocii for sport on Hutta. All you had to do was take out some of his droids, but as you can see they took out me. In fact, looking at the screenshot, I think what happened was, I completed the quest, and was attacked unaware as soon as I exited the final conversation.
It remains an inglorious moment that I chose to immortalize.
