Episode 74: The SWTOR That Almost Was

This week on the show, Eric Musco is going AFK. I’ll to you why and what that means for news and information while he’s gone.

Knights of the Fallen Empire was released in 2015, and it brought sweeping changes to the game. Was it a grand experiment, or was Fallen Empire meant to be a blueprint for all future content? I’ll share my thoughts on this later in the show.

Episode 74 was originally recorded on April 18th, 2018.

  1. I need to get better at listening to these before it’s almost time for the next episode… ;D

As for everyone agreeing that we love SWTOR for being an MMO, I’ve actually talked to someone who said that she played it despite of being an MMO and really wanted to solo at all times. I suppose to each their own, but she was also loudly complaining about Bioware catering too much to people who play the game because they do like MMOs, which was just weird to me.

That Macrobinocular/Seeker Droid chain is a weird beast. Part of me agrees that it would make sense to make it soloable, but another part just wishes they’d make a better option to find a group for it! I think having to rely on shouting in chat instead of being able to use a proper tool like the group finder probably gets more in the way than the group requirement itself…

    • I need to get better at preparing these before it’s time for the next episode. I get behind very quickly.

I agree it would be nice if the Group Find Tool could be used for things like forming groups to things like the Macrobinocular/Seek Quests. When they announced big changes to the group finder last year, I was hoping it would include the option to form groups and auto-invite people for all types of activities. Maybe in the future.
