Game Update 5.9.2 Delayed Until August 7th

BioWare announced today that Game Update 5.9.2 is getting pushed back a week, and will now launch on August 7, 2018. BioWare plans to push another updated to the PTS  this week to test out three key features. These include,

  • The ability toggle PvP on and off throughout the stronghold
  • Fixing line-of-sight issues for decorations
  • Adding a new area called The Overlook (pictured above)

You can read all of the details on the official forums.

All of the changes were based on feedback from Public Test Server. I don’t know much participation it got, but it was enough for BioWare to gather valuable feedback, and then turn around and make changes.

The LOS issues with decorations were definitely game-breaking and threatened to ruin the entire PvP experience. The new area was needed too. I mean the Sun Room wasn’t called the Sun Room because of its architectural design. It got that name because its roof was torn off.

To get all of this done and only delay the patch by a week? I’d call this a big win for open testing.
