Message in a Bottle

Hey everyone! Time for a blog post. I haven’t done one of these in ages, so bear with me as I dust off a bit of rust, and maybe some sand.

What started out as a 4-week escape to paradise is now turning into 10. I feel very blessed that I was able to take the lemons that 2020 gave us and turn them into Bacardi Limonade to start 2021.

1 part rum, 2 parts lemonade, 1 highball glass with ice, pour, stir, drink, rinse and repeat.

When I bought my studio apartment in St. Thomas years ago, I never thought I’d be able to spend a whole winter here until after I retired. But with times being what they are, this turned out to be the year that I could make that happen. With no one going into the office, the powers that be let me get away for a while and work remotely. I was supposed to return home at the end of January, but I was able to get vaccinated so it didn’t make sense to go home and come back a few weeks later for my second dose.

So what exactly does this mean for the podcast? Well, I don’t have the same recording equipment and setup down here that I do back home. I’m going to try and record something. If the quality is passable, then I’ll get an episode or two out the door before I come home. If the quality is terrible, then I’ll prepare a couple of episodes down here and get them out to you when I’m home in March. I’ll also try and squeeze out a blog post or two.

I don’t know if it’s sunk in yet, but this is truly a special year for Star Wars: The Old Republic. The game turns 10!

In honor of this momentous milestone, I’m going to start a new segment on my podcast called Ten Years of SWTOR. Each episode I’ll take a look back at some aspect of the game, from the various expansions, the Legacy System, Classes, Leveling, Stories, Conquest, and more. It’ll be a how it started and how it’s going kind of thing.

I hope to do some giveaways, maybe an interview or two. I’d also like to hear from you. From time-to-time this year I will solicit your stories and memories of Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Until then stay healthy and safe!

PS – To my good friend Marcus – Now this is hashtag – Island Life! Miss ya buddy.
