Episode 87: The Summers of SWTOR’s Past

Game Update 5.9.3 marks the end of the Summer of SWTOR 2018. This week I take look back at some recent Summers of SWTOR to see how they compare.

Tier 5 gear is coming to the game soon and it’s crafted only. Is this a good idea or a terrible idea. What about PvP? I’ll share my thoughts on this week’s episode.

Finally this week I return to my story project where I cover the events happening on the prison planet of Belsavis.

Episode 87 was originally recorded on October 3, 2018.

  1. It’s weird to hear someone look back at the summer of 2016 so fondly. I mean, I had a good time with it too, but I remember that even back then there was so much complaining about “no new content”. The DvL event was being accused of being nothing but an excuse to make people re-grind the old stories because there was nothing new, and even the monthly chapters were being dismissed as not counting as “real” new content because it was only half an hour of story, not “MMO” enough. People are just never happy.

Loved your detailed analysis of how everything is tied together on Belsavis!

    • At the time I don’t think I hated the DvL event, although I know many people were not happy with it. Looking back, it was sort of a blueprint for Galactic Command. Given that I’ve become so used to replaying the old content, and the fact that story is my favorite part of the game, I can’t help but look back on it fondly.

I’m glad you like Belsavis. It was fun to see all those connections.
